How to remove reel seat

Tools needed:

• hair dryer
• sharp knife
• masking tape
• hacksaw blade
• screwdriver
• hairdryer
• ruler
• sandpaper fine
• methylated spirit
• cloth wipes

• 

  STEP 1
  
  Always wear protective gloves. Cut & peel away shrink tube or Duplon or Cork if the rod has this by the Reel Seat.

• 

  STEP 2
  
  Unscrew hooded nut. Using cutters cut away metal hood. Wind tape onto blank to protect it.

• 

  STEP 3
  
  Using hacksaw blade, carefully cut plastic body of Reel Seat.

• 

  STEP 4
  
  Use the screwdriver blade to open up the slot in the Reel Seat and break it off the blank.

• 

  STEP 5
  
  Remove the tape, lightly sand the blank and clean with methylated spirit.
