“NEW GUIDE CONCEPT" introduced by FUJI in 1995 is hereinafter called "N-G-C". And new concept introduced here is called “K R Concept”.

N-G-C is based on the idea to get the greatest performance out of rod by considering following two aspects:

  • Re-examination of appropriate "number”, "sizing”, “height", “placement”, and "shape” of guides
  • Employment of smaller and lighter guides on Tip-section

N-G-C is the theory developed under the assumption of usage of Monofilament line. While developing the theory, new material
line, Braided line, gained in popularity rapidly. As Braided line had greater strengthen than Monofilament or Fluorocarbon line, more slender lines were introduced and Braided line generated synergistic effects with NGC such as greater casting distance, greater sensitivity and greater hooking power. On the other hand, its pliable characteristics brought challenges that line was easy to tangle in various environments.

Then, FUJI introduced sloped frame guide which had tangle-free function such as DB, WDB, LDB and LC (Low Rider) in various type of fishing on the basis of N-G-C and succeeded in reducing tangles.

Furthermore, FUJI developed a frame structure which enabled to prevent tangle automatically during casting and introduced K-series that had slope frame, but was appropriate for wide purpose.

What is K-R concept?

Some new breakthroughs are added in the basic theory of N-G-C and this achieves the employment of smaller guides and weight savings. In addition, tangle-free function with K-series is also adopted and it develops N-G-C to the next step to accommodate the guides to Braided line.

K-R concept is “Revolution" in guide which goes beyond the eight important features of N-G-C, K point of rod performance!

Result in improving all aspects compared

K-R concept is an evolved guide theory.

Guide spec based on this theory consists with small-diameter rings. Thus, it’ s more appropriate to adopt N-G-C for fishing types, such as beach casting, heavy salt, boat and so on, which contain conditions of:

  • full casting of heavy rigs
  • line system with thick line or big knot
  • priority on quick sinking of rigs
  • priority on preventing line tangling after casting at this moment

As K-R concept is a developing theory, however, it holds the potential to take the place of NGC in that fishing types by evolution of tackles such as line or guide itself.

Basic framework of K-R concept

K-R concept consists of 3 parts as below (excluding Tip-top)
