Now it is clear that the loop tangling can be released by lifting the "line before the guide“ up and over the top of the guide.

The element which tighten the loop at the moment of tangling is the energy of line towards the tip, that is, the energy of casting. It needs the force from the moving lure to untangle the line. But casting can only use the energy from casting. Therefore, Fuji needed to develop a frame structure which transforms the force tightens the loop into the one which untangles it. So, it determined the direction of development.

It is necessary to move the tangle forward toward the top of the guide.

Discovery #1 The best slope of ring

It is necessary to move the tangle forward toward the top of the guide in order to release the loop tangling. But pulling the line beyond the tangle just tightens the tangle. Therefore, Fuji engineers sloped the frame, and then, the tangle moved.

More slope made the tangle slide off the top of the guide, but too much slope negatively affect to the line release because the ring diameter becomes smaller, and also the force to the fulcrum point is concerned to grow.

It is decided that the optimum angle of slope is approximately 70 degrees in all aspects of tangle reduction, line release and frame strength. After "pushing" tangles forward, the loop formed across the back or reel side of the guide must slide up and forward to release.

With conventional guide frame designs, the loop came round to the front(tip side) of the guide and remain tangled. A new guide frame design was needed to be creative in addition to the sloped ring.

Slope is not the only factor to prevent the loop come round to the front of the guide

This is the perfect movement of the loop tangling. But it is impossible with this guide frame design.

Discovery #2 The shape of the bridge

Having discovered that the factor why the loop come round to the front of the guide is, that the junction of ring and bridge is low in conventional structure, Fuji decided to move the junction further up the side of the ring. But the loop still sometimes came round to the front of the guide(tip top side) even with the new structure.

Discovery #3 Two-stage slope by the bridge and the ring

In order to move the loop to the reel side, it needs the force to pull the loop moving to the top of the ring to the reel side to prevent the loop from coming round to the front of the guide.

The answer was to make two-stage-slope by bridge and ring changed from the straight junction.

The Tangle-Free K-Structure was born!
